Could it be – another template freebie?

Filed under: Blogroll, Terrann Hanks' items, freebie — lighthousegal @ 5:55 pm

It’s Friday, it’s Friday (imagine the Snoopy happy dance).  It is the beginning of a 3 day weekend – even better!  And the weather is perfect – even betterer!

I fooled around and created another template.  This one has a little more than the last one.  Funny, but when I create the template, I can actually make a page faster – even with the creating the template.  OK, guess I am wired wierd!

Here is the blank template.

Here is what it looks like filled.  Credits for the beautiful papers and embellishments go to my favorite kit – Journey of the Heart.

Just a reminder for those of you who have been eyeing things over at the Potato Bar on PolkaDot Potato - the bar closes tonight!

Hey – you have looked and possibly downloaded - now head on over to the Potato Bar and support all those terrific designers, especially Teriann Hanks!!!!!!!!!

A freebie?

Well, it looks like there is going to be a delay in the store opening at SAS.  While I know there are going to be some disappointed people, I admire and respect JulieO’s commitment to making sure everything works perfectly and anticipating as many glitches as possible.  According to her blog, it appears that she is now aiming to open the week of September 10th.   I have been so impressed with her and the rest of the Design Team’s commitment to quality and customer service!  This is going to be a great store!  The community over there is already fantastic!  There are some really cool freebies over there right now – so head on over there and take a peek!

Speaking of freebies – I was playing around the other day and came up with this 4×6 template (click on thumbnail to see larger version).

It was just something that I was playing with as I was trying to come up with a brag book to give to relatives for Christmas.  I have no aspirations of selling it, but I would love to see how you all use it! You can download it here.  Please send me a link to where you post it!  Here it is all worked up using the papers from Journey of the Heart papers and elements.  Remember that the purchase of this kit will help support children who still reside in China’s orphanages. That DH’s business is starting to grow and that he is developing some great friendships on his team.

For a my great partner that I work with – she makes the days much more fun and is such a support in my Faith Walk!

Wow – Where has the week gone?

I can’t believe it is actually Wednesday!  Too much has been going on!  DH and I have been doing some home volunteer work for the teacher of our kindergartener.  We have been pulling the pages out of the math workbooks so that they are handy for the teacher to use.  We have been doing this every evening since Monday.  I am excited to see how our oldest is at math.  I am horrible, so I want her to really love it and be good at it.

Last night and this morning was chaos – the oldest had a night terror and screamed for 45 mintues.  She was talking in her sleep and kept mentioning “Max”.  When she finally woke up I asked her who Max was and she looked at me like I was crazier than usual.  Then this morning the baby announced that she had a boo-boo on her foot.  There was a moderate sized splinter in her foot.  I was trying to get ready for work at the time. DH was already ready, so I asked him if he could take care of it.  Above the roar of the hair dryer I could hear her caterwauling.  I turned it off to see what was the matter.  There was big sis, holder little sis’s hand, patting her tummy (she was laying on the floor while DH was holding her foot and trying to decide the best way to procede).  I thought it was so sweet, until I realized that big sis was not murmuring gentle comfort, she was saying “it’s alright sis’er, it’s alright, I here, sis’er, your gonna die!”.  I am sure it is the line from Ice Age the Melt Down.  But it was not at all humerous to the little one.  I shooed big sis out and took her place.  When the actual procedure of removing the splinter occured, baby girl did not even flinch.  All of this between the hours of 9PM and 7AM.  Too much drama for this old mama!

I wanted to be sure to remind everyone about the Journey of the Heart kit that has been released.  Head over to ScrapandTell or Oscraps to help out the children who are still living in China’s orphanages.  There are also some doodles and a mini kit available at Oscraps that coordinate with the kit and will benefit Half the Sky and Love Without Boundaries

The Potato Bar is still going on over at PolkaDot Potato and Teriann has some wonderful products for only 99 cents!  The layout below was one of the Potato Bar templates by Teriann.  The papers are from Celebrate by Shabby Princess and the embellishments are from the kit Back to School by Karel.  These were taken the first day of Kindergarten!  (click on the thumbnail to see the full size picture)

That is about all from around here.  My blessings for the day – my back is feeling better (bad strain over the weekend), that everyone appears to be sleeping peacefully this evening,  for my wonderful DH who had the girls in the tub before I got home from work and then fixed dinner while I dried hair, for my job and that DH business is starting to pick up.

Please feel free to let me know any of your blessings!  Have a great night!

Fabulous new kit!

Filed under: Blessings, General, Terrann Hanks' items, Uncategorized — lighthousegal @ 9:04 pm

There is a fabulous new digital kit  out.  It is called Journey of the Heart.  It is a collaborative kit – meaning that there were a lot of big name designers involved in its creation! All the money made from this kit goes to help Love Without Boundaries and Half the Sky.  They are organizations that support and improve the lives of children in Chinese orphanages.  It is available at Oscraps and at ScrapandTell.  I have had the chance to view this kit – it is phenomenol!  There are 62 papers, over 100 elements, and 5 alphas!  Click on either shop link above and you can preview it.  Please consider providing your support to the children who still are without forever families!  Thanks!

On a personal note – tonight was back to school night for my oldest.  She proudly showed us, her little sister and my parents all around her classroom.  She is growing up so fast – it seems like just a few months ago that all 15lbs of her was placed in my arms.  Now she is the whopping 33 lbs (4.5 years later) and perpetual motion.   I have loved every moment of being her mother.  I love seeing the young girl she is growing up to be.  But I do wish I could slow down time and just keep her the way she is.  OK, enough of the pity party.  I love how both of my girls are turning out – fiesty, loving, caring, and totally full of personality.

Blessings -

That my girls are growing up to be wonderful young people

That my children have access to a great school and wonderful childcare

That my family continues to be in good health

That we have the freedom to practice our religious beliefs in relative safety

In closing – here is a page made with just a few of the items out of the Journey of the Heart Kit.  The template is by Teriann Hanks (Give Me A Ring), with is available on the Potato Bar at PolkADot Potato (click on the small photo to bring up a larger version)

Finally, Friday!

Filed under: Blessings, Terrann Hanks' items, Uncategorized — lighthousegal @ 7:05 pm

Finally, the week is over!  I was beginning to think it was never going to end.

Got some really bad news today.  A co-worker who is my age, with children just a little older than mine, found out that the cancer she thought she had beaten is now in her lungs.  From what I hear she is not doing very well.  Please pray for her and her family.  Please pray for her healing.  Also pray that everyone receives the strength  and comfort they need to submit to God’s will. Hearing about her really puts my trivial problems and trials into perspective.

REMINDER:  Polk-A-Dot Potato Potato Bar starts today!  Head over there and see all the yummy things that are on sale – all for only 99 cents each!  There are a lot of designers participating.  Teriann’s items alone are a feast!  Enjoy!

Blessings:

Air conditioning!

A reliable, loving babysitter

My DH who treats me so well

My 2 girls who shower me with hugs and kisses

That my family is experiencing, enjoying, and appreciating good health.
