I can’t believe it is actually Wednesday! Too much has been going on! DH and I have been doing some home volunteer work for the teacher of our kindergartener. We have been pulling the pages out of the math workbooks so that they are handy for the teacher to use. We have been doing this every evening since Monday. I am excited to see how our oldest is at math. I am horrible, so I want her to really love it and be good at it.
Last night and this morning was chaos – the oldest had a night terror and screamed for 45 mintues. She was talking in her sleep and kept mentioning “Max”. When she finally woke up I asked her who Max was and she looked at me like I was crazier than usual. Then this morning the baby announced that she had a boo-boo on her foot. There was a moderate sized splinter in her foot. I was trying to get ready for work at the time. DH was already ready, so I asked him if he could take care of it. Above the roar of the hair dryer I could hear her caterwauling. I turned it off to see what was the matter. There was big sis, holder little sis’s hand, patting her tummy (she was laying on the floor while DH was holding her foot and trying to decide the best way to procede). I thought it was so sweet, until I realized that big sis was not murmuring gentle comfort, she was saying “it’s alright sis’er, it’s alright, I here, sis’er, your gonna die!”. I am sure it is the line from Ice Age the Melt Down. But it was not at all humerous to the little one. I shooed big sis out and took her place. When the actual procedure of removing the splinter occured, baby girl did not even flinch. All of this between the hours of 9PM and 7AM. Too much drama for this old mama!
I wanted to be sure to remind everyone about the Journey of the Heart kit that has been released. Head over to ScrapandTell or Oscraps to help out the children who are still living in China’s orphanages. There are also some doodles and a mini kit available at Oscraps that coordinate with the kit and will benefit Half the Sky and Love Without Boundaries.
The Potato Bar is still going on over at PolkaDot Potato and Teriann has some wonderful products for only 99 cents! The layout below was one of the Potato Bar templates by Teriann. The papers are from Celebrate by Shabby Princess and the embellishments are from the kit Back to School by Karel. These were taken the first day of Kindergarten! That is about all from around here. My blessings for the day – my back is feeling better (bad strain over the weekend), that everyone appears to be sleeping peacefully this evening, for my wonderful DH who had the girls in the tub before I got home from work and then fixed dinner while I dried hair, for my job and that DH business is starting to pick up.
Please feel free to let me know any of your blessings! Have a great night!
