Time and space cramp

Filed under: Stone Accents Studio Items, Terrann Hanks' items, digital scrapbooking — lighthousegal @ 7:29 pm

Hey there -

I have had some space cramp on my computer that I needed to get cleaned out before I could make anything else!  I have finally gotten a few photos uploaded to my smugmug and backed up on DVD, so I had enough room to meet the needs of 2 of my CT requirements.  I have been so terrible about it!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Hard to believe that the countdown to Christmas is already on us.  I have not started shopping at all!  We did get the tree up this weekend  – most of the ornamants are at 4.5 feet or lower, but to my Mama eyes, it is gorgeous!

I put together this layout this evening of my big family celebration.  Everyone in my family is aware that my youngest daughter thinks my cousin married just so my daughter would have free access to her “boyfriend”.  They are smitten with each other – and I couldn’t think of a better person for her to have a crush on!

This was made using Teriann Hanks PicsAPlenty template and the October MegaKit from SAS.  Hope you enjoy!

Template #10

Filed under: digital scrapbooking, freebie — lighthousegal @ 12:05 pm

Here is my 10th template that I have created.  I never thought I would design anything, and here I am giving away templates.  Pretty cool!  This one is also a brag book sized layout.  The filled one looks like this:

It is filled using Pillowgirl’s So Pretty Kit from Stone Accents Studio.  I used her sparkly scalloped frame and embellished it with the wonderful bows that are part of the kit, and perched the butterfly on top of it all.  Instead of the stamp shape in the template, I used her journaling paper, added the brad and that adorable tag with the heart button on it.  It was super easy to do!  Here is the basic template

Please send me a link when you use it – I have not idea what anyone is doing with these templates.  I would love to see them used!  Please also leave me a comment!  Thanks for taking the time to look and download!  Have a great day!

Terrific Tuesday

Filed under: General — lighthousegal @ 8:46 pm

I can say that because I am blond again!  Thanks to the wonder of the woman who does my hair I now look a few years younger, my face looks brighter and I feel a whole lot better.  I have yet to figure out how someone like me who really does not care what her hair looks like can get a significant boost with a little hair color change!  Amazing!

The down side of that is that I did not get to see my girls today, since they were in bed before I was home from getting my hair done.  DH said they were angels and they had a great time watching some car make-over show.  Whatever!  According to him they both had a “green” day today.  At school, the teacher helps the kids monitor their behavior based on the colors of a stoplight.  Good behavior is green.  If they have been warned about something they move their clip to yellow.  If they are very out of line they move their clip to the red and have to go to the “calming spot”.  Now that same terminology has moved into our house.  The girls constantly want reinforcement that they are having a green day, and want to know at the end of the day what I would say their overall day has been.  It is really cute.  So, now you know more about a green day than you ever wanted to know!  Hope you have a restful night!

Finally Friday

Filed under: General — lighthousegal @ 10:08 pm

This week has been so long.  I am so glad it is Friday.

DH and I have a date tomorrow!  We are going to a craft show here in town and out to dinner with my cousins.  My parents are babysitting for the afternoon and evening, so it will be a child free day!  DH and I need some time together to reconnect.  That is the major problem that I have found about becoming a parent later in life.  While I feel we are better parents that we would have been in our 20s and early 30s, I do miss the adult time and selfishly the “me” time and couple time that we enjoyed for so many years.  Don’t get me wrong, even when they are their most annoying I have no regrets about having them in my life.  But I also really enjoy the breaks that my parents so graciously give us every once in a while.  Of course the girls are totally spoiled after a couple of hours with the grandparents, but that is ok.  There is nothing like those memories the 4 of them build together!

I have not had a chance to work on another template.  I am still trying to decide which of the layouts from a couple of days ago to make into a template!  If you have any preferences, let me know!

Please keep DH’s uncle in your prayers – he had surgery this week and had a rough night tonight. They had to move him to ICU.  We just checked on him and he is doing better, but I worry about him – he is 88 years old!

Hope you all have a terrific weekend!

Got one done…

Filed under: Stone Accents Studio Items, freebie — lighthousegal @ 10:54 am

Here is one of the templates that I am making from that above posted bragbook.

This one allows you to show a “panoramic” photo, like the group shot.  The kit I used to create this page is Pillowgirl’s new So Pretty Kit -

Here is the template.  It is in both PSD and PNG format.  I have left the tag “dangling” so that you could hang it however you wanted – off the button or off the ribbon – so it is complete with nothing erased. Please leave me some feedback on this template, and any of the others that you download!  Go ahead and download here!
