We are down to less than a week before bouncy girl gets another x-ray of her leg to see if it has healed. We are really hoping it has, as we are hoping to head to the beach for vacation sometime this summer. While the cast allows her to swim without issue, I would not feel comfortable with her getting a lot of sand in it. So, here is to hoping that the x-ray comes back ok and she can get her cast removed.
Another reason I hope the cast is removed is because I am hoping that she will stay in bed! I think she is rolling over in the night and the weight of the cast wakes her up. Once awake, she comes to find us and crawls into bed. I do love the extra snuggle time, but I really think she needs to get some uninterrupted sleep. We are gearing up for her class play – that is later this month. She is so proud that she gets to be the announcer. I hope we can get some great pictures of her.
On to stories about my little one. She has not been feeling well the last few days, so DH and I took her to the doctor today. That meant she had 2 hours with us (by the time we picked her up, drove to the doctor, made a stop at the lab to drop something off, and then get her back to the sitter) without having to compete with big sis. She was over the moon happy. She was bouncing around, chattering, and just enjoying having us all to herself. She has gone through another personality growth spurt and is so fun to watch. I think she has finally decided that she is going to keep us as parents, so she is really letting us love on her and get closer to her. It is neat transition to watch. I remember the older one doing this, but it was not quite as dramatic. I do have to tell on the baby, though. Her demeanor is often that of a princess, and wherever we go, she manages to find something to wear as a crown. The other day we were over at a friend’s house. The baby found a princess tiara somewhere and proudly paraded around the street wearing it. How am I going to break it to her that “princess” is a term of endearment and not an actual title?
