After having a very stressful weekend with JB, I was so happy to find this posted on a fellow adoptor’s blog. It made me smile, since I have been feeling like the worst mother in the world for the last couple of days. I will write more about that when I have put some distance between me and the event and can look at it rationally. In the mean time – enjoy the world wide happy dance. I am looking forward to showing this to JB – my little dancer.
One of my buddies over at CDS (Thanks Pam!) was able to point me to the video I could not find earlier. This showcases the drumming talent of a little guy – watch when he drops the drumsticks about halfway through, and then his grand finale! This little guy is just too cute!
Here are a couple of videos that I have found in wandering around other people’s blogs. I thought they were pretty impressive, so I wanted to pass them along to you.
This one was from Pam’s blog. I find it almost hypnotic to watch. Very impressive!
This one was from – well now I can’t find it. Shoot. If and when I do I will post it. It was a really cute one of a little guy who is playing the drums.
Other than that, I don’t have a lot to report. I have been working a lot of hours as we have some deadlines coming up at work, so I have not even scrapped anything. I have been taking a lot of pictures, though, so when I get around to scrapping I will have a lot to work with.
Last week was a celebration week. DH and I both celebrated birthdays. I had no idea there were so many ways for one little girl to sing “Happy Birthday”, but JB sure came up with a variety. We spent Father’s day down at my folks house. We did not stray off the main highway down there, but the damage from all the flooding was tremendous. It is heartbreaking. Now I have just found out that the town that JB was from in China is also suffering from record breaking floods. It seems like the world has gone crazy lately – tornadoes, floods, earthquakes. We have been personally blessed that although some friends have been affected by the flooding, no one that we know has been injured or lost everything. With all the damage to the crops, gas prices and the predicted food prices, it is a little scary right now. While there was a recession in the early ’90s, it did not really affect us because of the jobs we had at the time and the lack of children. This time we are feeling it much more. Now is the time that I need to hold onto my faith more and know that He will see us through. It is intimidating for me, since I am such a control addict! Well, this turned into a serious post! To lighten it up – here are a couple of pictures of our Princesses the night of JB’s class play. EB, as you remember, brought flowers for her – so they are both posing with them.
irrutting me – interrupting me caputer games – computer games Heawah ouwa pwawyer – hear our prayer Hail Mawy fuw of gwace – Hail Mary, Full of Grace Ouwer Fader who ot in heaben – Our Father who art in heaven
JB still sounds a lot like a little girl when she talks, but her conversations are facinating – she has almost as many opinions as I do! EB still sounds a lot like a toddler when she talks, but her vocabulary is HUGE! WE are so blessed with our little ones. They constantly amaze us, challenge us and make us realize what an honor it is to be their parents!

I just checked over on Bekah’s blog and realized she has done something that I have wanted to do for a long time, but have just been too lazy to do. She has recorded some of the adorable “words” her girls have made up. I thought I would do that for mine. I am adding the names of some of special items that have been or are in their lives right now.
JB - Boppem – bottom (as in a hiney) Lellow – yellow (EB has adopted this word, but the now big first grader has taken it upon herself to teach her sister how to speak correctly) Beary Bear – her bear that she got when she was at the hospital getting her leg casted – named after Hannah Montana’s Miley Stewart’s bear Kitty Blanket – a bright pink fleece blanket that has “Hello Kitty” pictures all over it. I really don’t remember where we got it, but for some reason that had to be over her when she slept for about 3 years. I yunt to elp – I want to help. Can still appear when she is really whiney or competing with EB I unt om – I want some – This can also still appear when she is really whiney or competing with EB
EB - Lellow – yellow – see above Boppem – see above Boo Bankie – blue microfiber washclothes that she has decided are for her use only and she carries around and rubs on her lips when she is tired. Pup and Puppie – 2 little beenie baby sized dogs that she has attached herself to. They have to be in bed with her, or we have to tear up the house looking for them. Pup was given to her on the day that we met her, by JB, who had picked it out 2 months before we traveled. Foggy – Froggie – it is a green lovely frog that was given to her by dear friends of my parents (and are surrogate grandparents to the girls) It stays at my parents’ house. Whenever we go down there the first place she goes is to her bed down there and grabs “foggie” and her a special pink microfiber cloth that is hers when she is down there (like Boo Bankie, but pink). Deddi – Her nickname for JB. Took us a long time to recogize that she was not yelling for Daddy. stoodle stool – especially the ottoman in our living room or the one she stands on to “help” me cook.
I know there are others that I am missing. If you remember any, please let me know!
