Sorry I have not posted in a while. Things have been a little crazy with school starting, getting EB over her poison ivy, work, my nephew having surgery, our anniversary – the list just goes on and on. I am still working on pages about our trip, too.
Let me give you a quick run down on things.
1 – JB is in first grade. She loves it. She is riding the school bus. It was rough for me to let her get on the bus the first time, but she is thriving on the independence. She won a raffle during a fund-raiser and got 8 weeks of gymnastics lessons. She was vacillating rather she wanted to take swimming lessons or take gymnastics. I guess God decided for us. She will be starting Girl Scouts next month. She is really excited about that.
2 – EB is over her rash. There is only a little scarring on her right arm from the first round of poison ivy. There is no scarring anywhere else. She was pretty scaly looking as the swelling went down, and her little face peeled. She was a little hyper from the prednisone. Note to self – don’t get the ready-dissolve prednisone tabs for her – she HATES them. She told me that the first time I gave them to her. When DH gave them to her the next morning, she was very indignant that she had informed mommy that she did not like them and did not want to take them. It was a creative 12 days to get all those pills in her! She is loving that JB is in gymnastics. She gets to have one on one time with the other parent. DH and I are trading taking JB to the gym, so EB gets time with both of us. I think, given what she has been saying, I am destined to go to the library on my next evening with her.
3 – My nephew had surgery. The tumor was totally benign and he was out of the hospital in a week. He had some pain control issues for a while, and hated the NG tube, but otherwise healed up without a hitch. I am so proud of how well he handled the whole thing. God truly had His hand on my nephew the whole time.
4 – It is official, we been married a very long time! We have been together 19 years and have been married 18 of them. DH took me out for a very nice dinner WITHOUT the girls. I actually got to eat my dinner while it was hot and without any little fingers trying to take part of my meal (thanks Mimi and Popaw!). It was a very relaxing, nice evening out. While we were at the restaurant there was a party there for a bachelorette party. I started counting up that 18 years ago that very day would have been when I was out celebrating with all my cousins. So DH and I sent a drink over the bride to be. It was fun sharing our celebration with a soon to be wed person!
5 – Work is work for both DH and me. But it pays the bills, I am usually home when JB gets off the bus, and we both work with a great bunch of people. I can’t ask for much more than that.
Well, that is it in nutshell. I have also been wrestling with some things in my own mind. Nothing terribly serious, just a lot of stuff that I needed to sort out. I will post a little about it when I have more time to properly set my feelings down on “Paper”.
Hope you all are doing well. You can see I changed the look of the blog again. I also put up some more links of blogs that I follow. I am getting the fall nesting urge – I am trying to get things organized on my computer. I am also working out an organizational/cleaning schedule for the house so that by the holidays it is nice and clean and we can relax.
That is about all for now. Take care and drop me a line when you get the chance!
