A couple more layouts

My internet connection was out this morning, so I scrapped while I was waiting for it to be repaired.  This is what I came up with……

Kit is Valentine by Sabdebois and the alpha is SpongedAlpha by Sabdebois (an awesome alpha brush!)

And here is another one:

Kit is Valentine by Sabdebois

Breakfast with Santa

Filed under: Blessings, General, Kid stories — lighthousegal @ 7:29 am

As I said in my last post – the day of the wedding started out with Breakfast with Santa at JB’s school – chaos, noise, chaos, shouting, chaos, massive amounts of people, chaos and WOW!

I have to say that for all I say there was chaos, it was a very organized and well run event.  As we walked in the door of the school, there was the Chik-Fil-A cow, affectionately known in our house as “Cowie”.  JB is personal friends with him since she won a “private lunch” with Cowie along with several of her school-mates a few months back.  Since then she thinks he should immediately recognize her at all events.

Please excuse the focus of this picture.  One day my camera is going to actually quit working and I am going to be heartbroken!  EB was not too sure about this whole thing, but she did agree to pose for the picture.

Next we moved on to meet Santa and get some grub.

I have no idea what this expression is on JB’s face.  I think she is contemplating why this Santa looks different than the one she saw a few days prior.  EB is caught between wanting to be afraid (notice the edge of the seat perch) and the overwhelming urge to tell him that she wants a Barbie Jeep (which she did not get because Santa and Mama had a talk about exercise and the need for more active or learning gifts – Santa complied).  I just love her earnest look here.   Also notice the ever present “boo bankie” – a microfiber washcloth that she carries around when she is at all stressed.  It was all I could do to get her to not take it to the actual wedding ceremony.

Following the visit with Santa we had breakfast and then moved on to the games in the gym where they won token redeemable for prizes.   It was a lot of fun to watch JB greet her friends, interact with the teachers and other staff at the school, and show off her social skills.  I watched her and was amazed that she is actually a first grader and loves it.  We are so blessed to be in this school system and in this particular school.
